National Security Expert Exposes Trump Admin’s Boat Strike Defenses
URGENT UPDATE: A national security expert has launched a scathing critique of the Trump administration’s defense strategies regarding its controversial strikes against alleged drug boats. In a revealing podcast episode of “Pod Save The World” released on Tuesday, Ben Rhodes, a former national security advisor under President Obama, claimed that officials are scrambling to justify their actions after facing serious allegations of misconduct.
According to multiple reports, the Trump administration has carried out at least 21 strikes against vessels suspected of drug trafficking, resulting in the deaths of over 80 individuals. A shocking report by The Washington Post details an order allegedly given by Defense Secretary to eliminate survivors of one such strike, a move that legal experts warn could constitute a war crime.
“The headline of this whole thing is that they know they got caught committing murder,” Rhodes stated emphatically during the podcast. He further asserted, “They are acting like people who are guilty of murder because they are.”
In response to the outcry, Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host, denied awareness of any survivors from the attack in question, claiming he had left for another meeting when the strike order was issued. However, analysts noted that this statement contradicted his earlier assertions that he witnessed the strike in its entirety. This inconsistency reflects the administration’s shifting narrative, which has evolved from claiming the strikes were necessary to remove a hazard to asserting self-defense, as pointed out by Rhodes and co-host Tommy Veitor.
“The whole world is watching video evidence of a war crime,” Rhodes emphasized, highlighting the international scrutiny facing the administration. He underscored the growing concern among former officials like Hegseth, suggesting they are increasingly aware of potential accountability following Trump’s presidency.
This developing story raises significant questions about military conduct and human rights violations. As more evidence surfaces, the implications for the Trump administration could be severe, potentially leading to legal repercussions.
