TNA Set to Secure New TV Deal with AMC Starting January 2026
TNA, known officially as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, is reportedly nearing a significant television deal with AMC that will begin on January 15, 2026. According to Jon Alba from Sports Illustrated’s ‘The Takedown’, AMC is positioned as the frontrunner to acquire the media rights for TNA, marking a pivotal shift from the promotion’s current home on AXS TV.
AMC’s announcement teasers for 2026 prominently feature TNA wrestling, indicating a strong commitment to showcasing the promotion on its network. With AMC reaching approximately 60 million homes across the United States, this transition could greatly enhance TNA’s visibility compared to its previous platform, AXS TV, which reportedly has half that reach. This expansion is viewed positively by fans and industry insiders eager to see TNA’s growth.
The decision to partner with AMC rather than a network associated with WWE programming raises questions about the current landscape of wrestling promotions. Many had anticipated that TNA could leverage its relationship with WWE to secure a deal through one of WWE’s partners. However, this has not materialized, although both companies maintain a positive working relationship as they head into the new year.
As the announcement looms, TNA talent is expected to be informed of the new deal on the afternoon of Tuesday, when the agreement could become official. AMC operates several broadcast networks, including core AMC, BBC America, and IFC, while also providing streaming services such as AMC+ and Shudder. This diverse platform portfolio could offer TNA a unique opportunity to reach a broader audience across various viewing preferences.
Despite the excitement surrounding the new television deal, uncertainty remains regarding the future of the TNA+ subscription service. At this time, it is unclear whether weekly programming will continue on this platform once the AMC partnership is finalized.
