West Allis Launches Urgent Food Drive, Donations Needed by Dec 31
UPDATE: The City of West Allis urgently appeals for community support in a vital food donation drive, running until December 31. This initiative seeks non-perishable food items and monetary contributions to assist local food pantries, addressing the pressing needs of families struggling with rising grocery costs in the area.
Officials from the City of West Allis announced this crucial drive on social media, emphasizing the importance of unity during challenging times. “This drive is a chance to come together and provide real, tangible support to our neighbors who need it most,” the City of West Allis, WI Government stated on Facebook.
Residents are encouraged to donate essential non-perishable items such as beans, canned fruits and vegetables, rice, pasta, and peanut butter. These staples will help ensure that vulnerable community members have access to balanced nutrition during the holiday season.
Donations can be dropped off at multiple locations throughout the city, including City Hall, the West Allis Police Department, and the West Allis Farmers Market. More drop-off sites may be added to enhance convenience for donors, with updates provided on the City’s social media pages.
For those who prefer to make monetary donations, contributions can be directed to the Community Impact Partnership & Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Financial gifts are tax-deductible and can be made by check or securely online through a provided link. Every monetary contribution helps fill local pantries and offers relief to families in need.
The City of West Allis highlights that individual actions can create significant community impact. Even small acts of kindness, like donating food, can make a substantial difference in the lives of those who are struggling. This year-end drive serves as a call to action for residents to come together, ensuring that no neighbor faces hardship alone.
As the deadline approaches, West Allis urges residents to act swiftly and contribute to this vital cause. The community has an opportunity to rally together, showing solidarity and compassion to those in need during this challenging time.
