Raleigh Faces Rainy, Cold Morning; Sunshine Returns Soon
UPDATE: Residents of Raleigh, NC are waking up to a damp and cold morning as light rain and fog create low visibility of just three miles. The National Weather Service (NWS) reports current temperatures at 37°F, feeling like 30°F due to a northeast wind at 10 mph. Rain is expected to persist until 3 p.m. today, but relief is on the way as sunshine is forecasted to return shortly.
Humidity levels are an uncomfortable 96%, contributing to the chilly atmosphere. As the day progresses, the winds will shift from the east to the north, slowing to around 7 mph. Tonight, temperatures are set to drop to near 32°F, with a continuation of cloudy conditions.
Looking ahead, the weekend will start off gloomy, with a cloudy Saturday reaching a high around 48°F. However, Sunday promises to bring a welcome change, as mostly sunny skies are expected with temperatures climbing to nearly 52°F. Overnight temperatures on Sunday will cool down to about 34°F.
As the new week kicks off, residents can anticipate mostly sunny skies on Monday with a cooler high of approximately 44°F. The NWS warns that Monday night will bring clear skies and a drop in temperatures to around 24°F.
From Tuesday through Wednesday, Raleigh will see a gradual warming trend, with sunny conditions and highs nearing 55°F by midweek. The forecast for Wednesday night includes partly cloudy skies with lows around 41°F.
Looking further ahead, Thursday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 54°F, setting the stage for a clearer and more pleasant end to the week.
