Charlotte M. Seim, Beloved Community Figure, Passes Away at 89
URGENT UPDATE: Charlotte M. Seim, a cherished member of the Guilderland community, has passed away at the age of 89. She died on November 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and humor that resonated deeply with those around her.
Born on February 26, 1936, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Clyde and Jennie (Travis) Woodard. She dedicated many years of her life to serving at Travelers Insurance Company, where she not only built her career but also met her late husband, William R. Seim. Known for her vibrant spirit, Charlotte was a familiar face at the Baptist community, often seen walking the halls and engaging with fellow residents.
Charlotte’s family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her children: Donna (Ronald) Healt, William (Debra) Eggleston III, Richard (Cheryl) Eggleston, Michael (Rose) Eggleston, and Guy (Susan Jacobson) Eggleston, along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, who will remember her for the warmth and joy she brought into their lives.
In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was predeceased by her first husband, William Eggleston Jr., her grandson Ryan Healt, and her four sisters: Eunice, Dorothy, Rita, Flora, along with her brother William. Her passing leaves a significant void in the lives of many, particularly those who knew her through her dedicated participation in community activities and crafts.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Baptist Health and Community Hospice, especially Brittany and her team, for their unwavering support and exceptional care during Charlotte’s final days.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. after a return to the funeral home at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland, NY.
Charlotte M. Seim will be remembered not just for her years but for the love and laughter she shared. Her impact on the community will be felt long after her passing, making her a beloved figure who will be dearly missed.
