A recent survey reveals that a substantial **87%** of Millennials and Gen Z adults engage in mindfulness or spiritual practices, yet only **31%** feel comfortable discussing these experiences openly. Conducted by **Munay Live**, the **2025 Consciousness Survey** highlights a significant divide between personal practice and public conversation among younger generations.

The survey, conducted in **November 2025** with **303** U.S. adults aged **18-44** and a margin of error of **± 5.7%**, indicates a growing interest in inner-development and ancestral practices. Among the respondents, **41%** reported engaging in energy work, while **39%** practiced breathwork. Other modalities included sound-based practices at **34%**, divination at **23%**, and shamanic traditions also at **23%**.

Barriers to Open Discussion

Despite the high levels of engagement, the findings suggest that many individuals feel constrained in sharing their experiences. As **Chakaruna**, the founder of Munay Live, states, “People are engaging in these practices at remarkable rates, but many feel they can’t talk about them. That silence creates confusion, misinformation, and isolation.”

The survey also identified two critical barriers preventing broader dialogue. **Twenty-eight percent** of respondents indicated they need support but lack clarity on which modality to pursue, reflecting a guidance gap. Additionally, **17%** reported difficulty in finding trustworthy practitioners, pointing to a discovery gap. Notably, only **8%** of respondents had booked a practitioner through social media, suggesting limited exposure to available resources.

Valued Characteristics in Practitioners

When selecting a practitioner, respondents prioritized practitioner lineage and personal referrals over cost, with **64%** emphasizing the importance of integrating traditional wisdom with modern science. This preference indicates a demand for qualified practitioners who can bridge the gap between ancient practices and contemporary understanding.

Munay Live aims to address these needs by providing a platform where individuals can explore various ancient arts and connect with practitioners from diverse traditions. The platform emphasizes transparency, allowing practitioners to present their lineage and training effectively.

As the interest in mindfulness and spiritual practices continues to rise among younger generations, the challenge remains to foster an environment where open discussions can flourish. The insights from the **2025 Consciousness Survey** underscore the necessity for more accessible pathways and trusted resources in this growing field.
