Boulder Opera Company Launches Season with Community Impact
UPDATE: The Boulder Opera Company has just launched its exciting new season, focusing on community engagement and accessibility in the arts. Celebrating over a decade of captivating performances, the company is inviting audiences to experience the magic of opera with an array of productions designed for everyone.
The season kicked off outdoors at the Boulder Bandshell during the much-anticipated Opera in the Park, featuring highlights from some of opera’s most iconic works. This outdoor event set the stage for what promises to be a thrilling journey through passion, comedy, and timeless music.
In November, families flocked to the charming performance of Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, filled with warmth and humor. Looking ahead, the Boulder Opera Company is set to present Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier in April, a poignant exploration of love, time, and transformation that is sure to resonate with audiences.
But the impact of the Boulder Opera Company extends far beyond the stage. The organization has made significant strides in fostering community connections, reaching hundreds of residents, particularly from underserved Latino and Hispanic communities, through free concerts. Thousands of students from Title I schools have also been introduced to the world of opera through engaging educational programs.
As a nonprofit organization primarily funded by donations, Boulder Opera is on a mission to raise $12,000 in unrestricted funds this year. These funds will support artist pay, expand bilingual programming, and enhance community access for the 2026 season. Their message is clear: even a small contribution can make a significant difference in sustaining local artists and enriching the cultural landscape.
The Boulder Opera Company encourages community members to support their mission through Colorado Gives Day. Interested patrons can contribute at coloradogives.org/organization/boulderopera, helping ensure that vibrant and accessible opera remains part of the Boulder community.
