URGENT UPDATE: Air Antilles has officially suspended all flights as of December 9, 2025, leaving hundreds of travelers stranded in the Caribbean. The sudden halt comes after the French aviation regulatory agency, Direction de la Sécurité de l’Aviation Civile, revoked the airline’s operating license following a critical safety audit.

The suspension has devastated vacation plans for many during the peak holiday season, particularly affecting those traveling to and from the French Antilles and surrounding Caribbean islands. With no clear timeline for resuming operations, travelers face uncertainty about their return flights and connections through Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport in Guadeloupe.

The audit, conducted between December 2 and 4, raised significant concerns about Air Antilles’ management system overseeing central flight operations, as reported by Saint Martin News Network. The airline is currently addressing these issues but is also grappling with severe funding problems. Its operating license has been provisionally extended only until January 31, 2026, as the airline seeks new financial backing.

Travelers impacted by the cancellations have found temporary relief through rebooking options offered by competitor Air Caraïbes, which is stepping in to facilitate necessary transfers. However, the uncertainty surrounding Air Antilles has left many feeling anxious and frustrated.

“We appreciate our customers’ understanding and patience during this exceptional situation,”

stated the airline in a notice on their website, urging passengers to check their emails and phones regularly for updates.

As the situation develops, travelers are advised to keep a close eye on communications from Air Antilles and consider alternative travel arrangements. The immediate future of the airline remains in jeopardy as it works to resolve safety concerns and secure its financial position.
