UPDATE: Actor Ryu Jun Yeol has changed his mind and is now participating in the 10-year anniversary celebration of the beloved K-Drama, Reply 1988. This surprising turn of events was confirmed by News1 on October 30, KST, just hours ago, sparking excitement among fans.
Initially, Ryu Jun Yeol’s agency announced that he would be absent from the reunion due to scheduling conflicts. However, a broadcast official revealed that the actor managed to rearrange his commitments and filmed segments for the special program commemorating the show’s milestone, despite not joining the group trip.
The reunion, orchestrated by director Shin Won Ho, aims to celebrate a decade since the show’s debut and will involve the entire main cast in a travel-themed format. Fans were particularly eager to see if Ryu Jun Yeol and co-star Hyeri would face each other, given their well-publicized past and recent tensions.
While Ryu Jun Yeol will not be part of the group traveling together, his limited participation has been met with enthusiasm online. One fan remarked, “Ryu Jun Yeol is one of the main characters too, so it makes sense that he might show up.” Another commented on the potential awkwardness, saying, “That must be a funny situation… This is exactly why dating co-stars isn’t always a great idea.”
As the Reply 1988 reunion approaches, fans are eagerly discussing the implications of Ryu Jun Yeol’s involvement. Will his segments include interactions with Hyeri, or is he filming separately as his character, Jung Hwan? These developments have made the upcoming program a must-watch for devoted viewers.
