Bethesda Confirms Skyrim Now Available on Nintendo Switch 2
UPDATE: Bethesda has just announced the highly anticipated release of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch 2, available now for $59.99 / £52.99. In a recent interview, creative director Matt Carofano revealed that the porting process was “really easy,” sparking excitement among fans eager to experience the iconic RPG on the new platform.
This latest version of Skyrim, which shadow dropped onto the Switch 2, showcases Bethesda’s commitment to bringing beloved titles to modern consoles. Carofano noted the ease of development, stating, “We had previously done the version for the Switch, so this was going back to that and making improvements on it.” He emphasized that the team aimed to deliver the best possible experience for players utilizing the enhanced capabilities of the Switch 2.
With features like DLSS for improved resolution and performance, faster load times, and support for the new Joy-Con 2 controllers, the Switch 2 version of Skyrim promises a fresh take on the classic game. Carofano expressed enthusiasm about leveraging the new hardware to elevate gameplay, saying, “A lot of it is really just focusing on taking advantage of the new hardware.”
Fans of the franchise are already buzzing about the game’s return. Carofano acknowledged the ongoing humor surrounding Skyrim’s numerous re-releases, stating, “It’s a bit of a joke at this point how often we release Skyrim, but it’s a great game. We want everyone to be able to play it in the best way possible.”
Despite the excitement, some gamers have expressed concerns regarding the price tag. At $59.99, many players are weighing their options, especially given the availability of the game on other platforms with mod support for significantly less. Nonetheless, the allure of exploring the snowy landscapes of Tamriel on the go may sway many to make the purchase.
As the gaming community reacts, keep an eye out for potential future discounts on the Switch 2, which could influence purchasing decisions. Bethesda’s strategy of shadow dropping games has proven effective in generating buzz, and this latest release is no exception.
For gamers interested in handheld consoles, the Nintendo Switch 2 is quickly becoming a top contender. Stay tuned for more updates as the community dives into Skyrim’s vast world once again. Follow us for breaking news, reviews, and more on the latest gaming developments.
