NCHSAA Reveals Locations for 2025 Fall Sports Championships
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) has officially announced the venues and dates for the 2025 fall sports championships. This year marks a significant change as the expansion to eight classifications has transformed many events from single-day competitions into multi-day tournaments, utilizing various locations across the state.
Championship Venues and Events
The Burlington Tennis Center will once again host the NCHSAA’s dual team tennis championship matches, along with the 3A and 4A individual state tournaments. The individual tournaments for the 1A and 2A classifications are scheduled at the Cary Tennis Center, while the 5A and 6A tournaments will take place at Ting Park in Holly Springs. The 7A and 8A tournaments are set for Millbrook Exchange in Raleigh.
In golf, the women’s championships will see a new venue this year, with the 1A/2A Championships hosted at Gates Four Golf and Country Club in Fayetteville. This marks the first time the course will host a women’s championship, although it previously hosted a men’s event in the spring. The 7A Championship will be held at Sapona Golf Club in Lexington, while the 3A and 4A Championships return to Longleaf Golf and Family Club. The 5A and 6A Championships will take place at Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe, and the 8A Championships will be played at Pinehurst No. 6, which has frequently hosted this event since the women’s championships moved from Finley Golf Course in 2000.
Volleyball and Other Championships
For the fifth consecutive season, the volleyball championships will be hosted at Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of N.C. State University on November 1. The initial day of these championships, October 31, will take place at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem. Additionally, the Cross Country Championships will return to the Ivey Redmon Complex in Kernersville, marking the 13th consecutive championship at this location.
The men’s soccer championships will be held at Appenzeller Field in the Armfield Athletic Center at Guilford College for the first time, transitioning from previous venues in Guilford County. The Cheerleading Invitational Championship will remain at the Raleigh Convention Center, where it has been held for most of its history, making 2025 the fifth consecutive year at this venue.
Football championships will take place at three locations: Kenan Stadium, Durham County Memorial Stadium, and Helen & Leonard Moretz Stadium at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Kenan Stadium will host four games this year, bringing its total to 88 NCHSAA Football Championship Games since 1929. Both Durham County and Moretz Stadium will each host their first two NCHSAA championship games this season.
The classifications and specific game times for each site will be determined at a later date, providing schools and fans with ample opportunity to prepare for these prestigious athletic events.
