The Thomasville High Lady Bulldogs secured a historic advancement to the Sweet 16 after a decisive victory against the Model Lady Devils on October 16, 2025. This win marks the first time the Lady Bulldogs have progressed this far in the program’s history, showcasing their determination and skill throughout the playoff series.

With the stakes high, the Lady Bulldogs entered the rubber match of the first-round series after forcing an “if necessary” game. The action kicked off with a flyout, but Caroline Still quickly put Thomasville on the board with a line drive to center field. Following a second flyout, Cece Myers stepped up and delivered a crucial hit, driving Still home from first base. Myers advanced to third on the throw, and the bases soon loaded for Ava Simpson, who earned a walk to score Myers. Audrina Hance then added to the lead by getting hit by a pitch, allowing Khiler Oehlhof to cross the plate before the end of the inning.

In the second inning, the Lady Bulldogs maintained their momentum. A groundout was followed by Still hitting a double into left field. Jaelyn Oehlhof then contributed with a hard grounder to right, bringing Still home and extending the lead to four runs. Although Thomasville conceded a run in the bottom of the second, they responded emphatically in the third. Hance hit a home run over the left field wall, restoring the four-run advantage.

The Model Lady Devils began to rally in the third inning, managing to cut the deficit to just one run after a double brought in three runs. Nevertheless, the Lady Bulldogs regrouped in the fourth inning. Fallyn McDougald opened with a successful bunt single, followed by Still’s line drive to center. Jaelyn Oehlhof then scored McDougald with a bunt, and a fielding error allowed Still to cross home plate as well. Myers hit a sacrifice fly to bring Oehlhof home, and the scoring continued as Khiler Oehlhof hit a double, followed by Simpson’s double that scored a courtesy runner, Heidi Barrow.

The fifth inning brought a quick one-two-three from the Lady Bulldogs, but Model managed to score again in the bottom half. The sixth inning saw the Lady Bulldogs maintain their offensive pressure. Khiler Oehlhof started things off with a walk, and Barrow ran for her. Simpson and Hance both followed with singles to load the bases for Emma Reichert. A passed ball allowed Barrow to score, and Reichert’s hit brought Simpson home while advancing Hance to third. McDougald then reached on a grounder, and Still’s sacrifice fly allowed Hance to score. Jaelyn Oehlhof’s line drive brought Reichert home, capping off a commanding performance.

Ultimately, the Lady Bulldogs triumphed with a final score of 14-5, shutting down the Lady Devils’ hopes in the last inning. Hance and Jaelyn Oehlhof stood out offensively; Oehlhof finished with three hits and three RBIs, while Hance collected three hits and two RBIs. Myers and Simpson also contributed significantly, each adding two RBIs.

In the pitching circle for Thomasville, Khiler Oehlhof showcased her talent, allowing eight hits over six innings, with four earned runs and two strikeouts. The Lady Bulldogs are now set to face Elbert County in the Sweet 16, an upcoming match that promises to be another thrilling chapter in their competitive season.
