Enjoy Two Fun-Filled Days at the FWBG Dog Days Event
The Fort Worth Botanic Garden (FWBG) is set to host its annual Dog Days event this weekend, March 16-17, 2024. This special occasion invites dog owners to enjoy a weekend filled with outdoor activities alongside their pets. The event will take place during regular Garden hours, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering a perfect opportunity for both humans and their furry companions to explore the scenic beauty of the Garden.
Admission for human guests remains consistent with regular ticket prices, while an additional fee of $5 per dog applies. Notably, FWBG members, both human and canine, can enter for free. Those interested in becoming members can join prior to the event to take advantage of this benefit.
Guidelines to Ensure a Safe Experience
To facilitate a successful and safe experience for all attendees, FWBG has established several guidelines for dog owners. All dogs must be leashed, be over four months old, and up to date on vaccinations. Additionally, dogs in heat are not permitted. Owners are responsible for their pets at all times, and the Garden staff reserves the right to ask aggressive dogs and their owners to leave the premises.
Guests are reminded that dogs should not be left unattended in vehicles, and all waste must be promptly bagged and disposed of in designated trash receptacles. FWBG will provide waste bags for convenience. Dogs are prohibited from entering the Rock Springs Café, the Rainforest Conservatory, and trams to maintain a safe environment for all visitors.
Ensuring Enjoyable Interactions
Socialization is key during the Dog Days event. Guests are encouraged to ask for permission before approaching unfamiliar dogs or allowing their pets to interact. This is especially important when children are present. To maintain the Garden’s pristine condition, all participants should remain on designated trails, pathways, and open lawn areas.
As a reminder, guests should leave the Garden as they found it by collecting all items, including dog treats and waste. The FWBG staff also suggests wearing sturdy walking shoes and taking necessary precautions against sun exposure while enjoying the event.
The FWBG Dog Days event promises a delightful experience for pet owners and their dogs. With clear guidelines in place, attendees can ensure a fun and safe environment while appreciating the beauty of the Garden.
