Brandi Carlile will host this weekend’s episode of *Saturday Night Live*, stepping in for actor Miles Teller, who is also featured in the show. The announcement follows a humorous exchange in recently released promotional videos, where Teller faces a playful critique from *SNL* cast member Ashley Padilla regarding his failure to notice her new haircut.

In the promo, Padilla expresses her frustration with Teller, saying, “I got a haircut, and you haven’t said anything about it!” To which Teller, seemingly unphased, replies, “Yeah, sorry, I think I didn’t notice, Ashley, because we’ve never met before.” This light-hearted banter sets the tone for what viewers can expect from the upcoming episode.

Brandi Carlile’s Musical Return

Notably, Carlile, an eleven-time Grammy Award-winning artist, acknowledges Padilla’s new look, stating, “I noticed. The second I saw you, I knew you had that new-haircut glow.” This interaction prompts Padilla to declare, “Thank you, Brandi Carlile! You’re the host now,” which Carlile enthusiastically confirms with a “Yesssss.”

Teller, visibly surprised, questions if Padilla is joking. Comedian and fellow cast member, Chris Redd, assures him she is serious, adding a playful twist when Padilla quips, “I hope you can sing.” Teller responds with a shrug, “I can sing,” referencing a previous performance where country star Keith Urban invited him onstage to duet on The Temptations’ classic “My Girl” in 2016.

This episode marks Carlile’s fourth appearance as a musical guest on *SNL*, following her collaboration with Elton John in April 2023 to promote their joint album, *Who Believes in Angels?* This week, she will be showcasing songs from her recently released solo album, *Returning to Myself*.

Upcoming Projects for Miles Teller

For Miles Teller, this will be his second time hosting *SNL*, having made his debut in 2022. The actor is set to promote his upcoming film, *Eternity*, a sci-fi romantic comedy co-starring Elizabeth Olsen and Callum Turner, which is scheduled for release in theaters on November 26, 2023.

*Saturday Night Live* airs at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT on NBC and will also be available for streaming on Peacock. The combination of Carlile’s musical talent and Teller’s acting chops promises an engaging episode for audiences. Viewers can expect a mix of humor and music as the show continues its legacy of entertaining Saturday night audiences across the globe.
