Beloved Bernardston Resident Lois Snow Passes Away at 93
Lois Snow, a cherished member of the Bernardston community, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 93 at Regal Care in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Born on July 21, 1930, she was the daughter of William and Alice McAuliffe. Lois was raised in Hinsdale, New Hampshire, where she received her education.
Lois married her beloved husband, Irah Snow, on September 21, 1951, at the Goodale United Church in Bernardston. The couple enjoyed a remarkable 68 years of marriage, until Irah’s passing in 2019. Lois was known for her warmth and creativity, engaging in activities such as quilting, making braided rugs, and camping. She also had a passion for bottle digging, a hobby that brought her joy.
Each year, Lois looked forward to spending her winters in Florida, where she enjoyed the sun and warmth. Her legacy lives on through her three sons: Michael and his wife Kerry, Kevin and his wife Sydney, and Jeffery, all residents of Bernardston. She is also survived by six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Lois was predeceased by her sister, Kay Morse, who had also been a significant part of her life. The family has announced that a graveside service will take place in the spring, providing an opportunity for community members to pay their respects and celebrate Lois’s life.
Arrangements are being handled by Kidder Funeral Home located at 1 Parker Ave., Northfield, Massachusetts. The family encourages those who wish to honor Lois’s memory to sign the guest book or contribute through flowers and donations.
Lois Snow will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and friends throughout her life.
