Uniontown Veterans Day Parade Set for Nov. 11: Join the Celebration!

UPDATE: The annual Veterans Day Parade in Uniontown is happening on Tuesday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. This parade, hosted by the American Legion LaFayette Post 51, is set to honor veterans and is expected to draw a large crowd to downtown Uniontown.

Participants are urged to arrive early, with lineup starting at 9:00 a.m. Marchers will stage on East Church Street, between Marshall Park and Marshall Manor, as well as on Jefferson Street, Iowa Street, and East South Street. The parade will pause at Storey Square at 11:11 a.m. for a solemn playing of taps, marking a moment of remembrance.

For those involved, buses can drop off marching bands and Junior ROTC members at St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 50 Jefferson St. After the parade, students will be picked up at St. Mary (Nativity) Church, at 61 N. Mount Vernon Ave.

Specific arrangements have been made for participating groups. Bands will line up between Marshall Park and Marshall Manor, while JROTC members will gather at the Uniontown Public Library. Emergency vehicles will be stationed on Iowa Street. Other organizations are asked to form three lanes on East Church Street or East South Street.

Veterans wishing to join the parade are invited to meet in Marshall Park. Please note that all-terrain vehicles and side-by-sides require prior approval from the Uniontown Police Department, and horses are not permitted in the parade. Additionally, political messaging is strictly prohibited.
