A tribute to country music legends will come alive at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center (NPAC) in Greeneville, Tennessee, on January 17, 2024. The show, titled Twitty & Lynn: A Salute to Conway & Loretta, is set to begin at 19:30 and features Tre Twitty and Tayla Lynn, the grandsons of Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, respectively. This performance aims to honor the rich legacy of their grandparents while reviving the cherished tradition of country duet singing.

In a unique approach, Tre and Tayla do not impersonate their iconic grandparents. Instead, they serve as “ambassadors” and “caretakers of the past,” sharing personal stories and experiences from their own perspectives. The duo aims to keep the spirit of Conway and Loretta’s music alive, presenting beloved duets such as “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” and “After the Fire Is Gone,” alongside solo classics like “Hello, Darlin’” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

The show is not merely a musical performance; it is a heartfelt endeavor to preserve the legacies of Conway and Loretta. Tre Twitty is actively advocating for Conway Twitty’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, in addition to his already established place in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, Tayla Lynn is dedicated to preserving Loretta’s iconic fashion, even donning one of her grandmother’s outfits during performances at the Grand Ole Opry.

Our show is a special gift to keep that flame burning,” Tre stated, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring that the passion and authenticity with which their grandparents performed continue to resonate with both longtime fans and new audiences. Loretta Lynn, who passed away in October 2022, played a crucial role in developing the show, expressing that Tre possesses “Conway’s heart.”

In 2022, Tre and Tayla made their Grand Ole Opry debut, performing “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” on the same wooden circle where their grandparents once stood. This milestone not only highlights their connection to country music history but also underscores their efforts to carve out their own artistic identities. An album featuring original songs and covers is currently in production, embracing the timeless styles of the 1970s country and Americana genres.

Tickets for the performance at NPAC start at $35 and can be purchased online at NPACgreeneville.com or through the NPAC Box Office at 423-638-1679, available weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00. The venue will open its doors one hour prior to the show.

This event promises an unforgettable evening filled with music, memories, and the enduring legacy of two of country music’s greatest icons.
