Hydesville Man, 65, Arrested for Domestic Violence, Attempted Homicide

URGENT UPDATE: A 65-year-old man, identified as David Bernard Privat, was arrested early this morning in Hydesville for multiple serious charges, including attempted homicide, following a domestic violence incident. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at approximately 12:11 a.m. from a residence on the 3000 block of Barber Creek Rd.

As deputies raced to the scene, one officer spotted Privat’s vehicle—a white Chevrolet Suburban—traveling at a high rate of speed on Rohnerville Rd. in Fortuna, about a mile from the reported location.
