Zotac’s Zbox Magnus Mini PC Challenges Mac Studio with Power
URGENT UPDATE: Zotac has just announced its latest mini PC, the Zbox Magnus EN275060TC, designed to challenge the performance of the Apple Mac Studio. This compact powerhouse boasts an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and an Nvidia RTX 5060 graphics card, all within a pocket-sized chassis, making it a game-changer for tech enthusiasts and professionals alike.
Weighing in at just 1.4 kilograms and measuring 210 x 203 x 62.2 mm, the Zbox Magnus fits snugly into your jacket pocket. Despite its small size, it packs a punch with a total volume of only 2.65 liters, outperforming many mid-tower desktops available today. This mini PC is equipped with 20 cores (8 performance and 12 efficiency) and can achieve a turbo boost of 5.2GHz, offering significant processing power for demanding tasks.
The Zbox Magnus is positioned as a versatile option for users, allowing for custom upgrades. It supports up to 96GB of DDR5 memory and includes dual M.2 slots for SSD installations, giving users flexibility in tailoring their system. However, buyers should note that it comes as a barebones kit, meaning they will need to install their own memory and storage.
While Zotac claims the Magnus can rival the Mac Studio, questions regarding thermal control and sustained performance remain pertinent, especially due to its compact design. The device’s 330W external power supply may also detract from its appeal, particularly for those seeking true portability.
For connectivity, the Zbox Magnus is well-equipped, featuring two Thunderbolt 4 ports, five USB Type-A ports, and dual Ethernet connections. It also supports multiple display outputs, including HDMI and DisplayPort, making it suitable for multi-monitor setups.
The pricing for the Zbox Magnus has been listed at around €1,600 (approximately $1,555 before taxes) in European markets, putting it in direct competition with larger desktop systems that may offer better cooling and sustained performance.
Zotac’s innovative design and powerful specifications make the Zbox Magnus EN275060TC a compelling alternative for those seeking a high-performance mini PC. As tech enthusiasts eagerly await performance comparisons and user reviews, this launch marks a significant development in the mini PC landscape.
Stay tuned for further updates on performance tests and customer feedback as this mini PC enters the market.
