URGENT UPDATE: Residents of Wilson County must prepare for significant changes to their trash disposal routines as both the Solid Waste C&D Landfill and all Convenience Centers will close this Wednesday at 12:00 PM for essential staff training.

Officials from the Wilson County government have confirmed that all operations will halt temporarily, meaning residents should aim to dispose of their trash earlier in the day. The landfill and centers are critical for managing household waste and recyclable materials, directly impacting community cleanliness and environmental health.

Services will resume promptly the following day. The landfill will reopen at 8:00 AM, while the Convenience Centers will welcome residents starting at 7:00 AM on Thursday.

For those unfamiliar with the locations, Convenience Centers range from 6044 Bottoms Dairy Road in Elm City to 2400 NC 42 Hwy East for site 13. These facilities provide vital support to residents, ensuring accessible options for waste disposal.

Residents are urged to plan accordingly to avoid disruption in their waste disposal schedules. This temporary closure underscores the county’s commitment to staff training, ultimately enhancing service efficiency.

Stay tuned for further updates as Wilson County continues to prioritize both community service and environmental standards.
