Urgent: Suspect Arrested in East Village Stabbing Near High School

UPDATE: A man has been detained following a stabbing incident near City High School Stadium in San Diego’s East Village just this morning. The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) confirmed they apprehended the suspect at approximately 7:59 AM after a violent confrontation left a male victim with a one-inch laceration on his left upper arm.

The victim reported that he was attacked while exiting the parking lot at 1313 Park Blvd. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his 50s, clad in a baseball hat, a black jacket, and shorts. Officers quickly identified and detained a man matching this description at 1600 C Street.

In a rapid escalation of the situation, police noted a knife protruding from the suspect’s pants pocket. With the suspect showing a lack of cooperation, authorities deployed less lethal rounds and a service dog to subdue him. The suspect has been identified as Hollis Hunt, born on February 16, 1967, and now faces serious charges including assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing police.

After undergoing a medical evaluation, Hunt was booked into the San Diego Central Jail. The investigation is being led by SDPD’s Central Division, which is urging the public to come forward with any relevant information regarding the incident.
