Millville Woman Arrested for Threatening U-Haul Worker with Baton

BREAKING: A 51-year-old woman from Millville has been arrested after threatening a U-Haul employee with an expandable baton in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The incident unfolded on July 10, 2023, at approximately 4:20 PM, when authorities responded to a report of a woman allegedly preparing to assault a worker at U-Haul Moving and Storage located at 825 N. Pearl Street.

Bridgeton Police arrived on the scene to find Nantonya Mangini still brandishing the baton and threatening the employee. According to police reports, Mangini ignored multiple commands to drop the weapon and attempted to walk away from officers while still holding it. After a tense standoff, police were able to convince her to relinquish the baton, leading to her arrest.

Following her apprehension, Mangini was transported to the Bridgeton Police Department where she was charged with obstruction, terroristic threats, and weapons charges. She also faces charges for failing to comply with police procedures regarding fingerprinting. Currently, she is being held at the Cumberland County Jail pending further court proceedings.

This alarming incident raises concerns about public safety and the potential for escalating violence in everyday situations. Authorities urge community members to report any suspicious behavior immediately to prevent similar threats.
