Metacritic Reveals 2025’s Worst Game with Score of 28
URGENT UPDATE: Metacritic has just unveiled the worst-reviewed game of 2025, receiving a dismal score of 28. Despite a significant advertising push and high expectations, the open-world game developed by Build A Rocket Boy has been plagued by critical flaws, including a stunted game world, numerous bugs, and a tedious gameplay experience.
This title, which was showcased at events like Summer Game Fest, has faced harsh criticism since its June launch. Players and reviewers alike have pointed out severe issues, such as poor enemy AI, repetitive combat, and a confusing endgame. Even with a robust marketing campaign, the game has failed to resonate with players, leading to its unfortunate position at the bottom of Metacritic’s rankings.
Developers have attempted to rectify these issues through several updates, addressing player feedback to enhance gameplay. Changes include rebalancing difficulty, improving cover shooting mechanics, and adding new side activities. However, many believe these adjustments may not be enough to recover from the initial backlash.
In a statement, Build A Rocket Boy thanked players for their feedback, emphasizing that “every bit of feedback, positive, negative, or in between, has helped improve the game.” Yet, despite their efforts, the game remains one of the most talked-about flops of the year, raising questions about its future and the studio’s direction.
As gaming enthusiasts and critics discuss this latest development, the community is left wondering whether these updates will significantly change perceptions or if this title will forever be remembered as one of the worst games of 2025. Stay tuned for further updates as the situation evolves.
