Man Arrested with Stolen Gun After Shootout in Enfield, NC
URGENT UPDATE: A man was arrested in Enfield, North Carolina, after a dramatic shootout involving gunfire from a bullet-riddled vehicle Saturday night. Police confirmed the incident occurred around 9:25 p.m. as officers patrolled the North McDaniel Street area.
Authorities reported that officers, including Enfield Police Chief Jerry Shoemaker, heard gunfire erupting at the Big Moes #2 gas station located at 115 N McDaniel St. The scene quickly escalated as the officers responded to the chaos.
Witnesses saw a man fleeing from a white vehicle that had multiple bullet holes. An officer pursued him on foot and successfully apprehended him, according to the Enfield Police Department.
During the arrest, police recovered a stolen Palmetto PA-15 rifle, further intensifying the severity of the situation. The suspect, identified as Terrence A. Richardson, 22, faces numerous charges including:
– Felony possession of a stolen firearm
– Going armed to the terror of the people
– Resisting a public officer
– Carrying a concealed gun
The police also indicated that additional charges are pending against other individuals involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events that led to the shootout.
