Impact on Education Awards $115K in Urgent Grants to 83 BVSD Teachers
BREAKING: Impact on Education has just announced the allocation of $115,140 in grants to 83 educators across the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). This funding, made possible through generous community donations, including a significant $100,000 gift from Meritrust Credit Union, aims to engage and support local students during a critical time.
These Student Opportunity Fund grants are designed to enhance academic resources, improve well-being, and facilitate career-discovery opportunities for children attending BVSD schools. Projects funded in this fall grant cycle range from career days to tutoring sessions and athletic programs, directly impacting the educational landscape in the community.
“We’re incredibly grateful for Meritrust’s investment in this program,” said Allison Billings, executive director of Impact on Education. “They’ve stepped up to support our public schools at a time when funding for education is incredibly unpredictable, and the needs are growing.”
The ongoing support from Meritrust is crucial, as many traditional funding sources for educational activities, such as field trips, are becoming increasingly scarce. “As a community-focused financial institution, we at Meritrust believe that investing in education is one of the most impactful ways to contribute to the long-term prosperity of our Boulder community,” stated Jamie Harrison, executive vice president and chief growth officer at Meritrust. “Education empowers individuals, nurtures innovation, and drives economic growth.”
Meritrust, formerly known as Premier Members Credit Union, has a long history of supporting Impact on Education through various initiatives, including college and career readiness programs and school supply distributions for financially vulnerable students.
“Meritrust’s support means we can keep showing up for teachers and students when they need us, and dream bigger,” Billings added.
As a result of this funding, educators can implement innovative programs that were once considered standard but have increasingly become challenging to finance. Applications for the upcoming spring grant cycle will open at the end of the year, with awardees set to be announced in February 2026.
This initiative not only strengthens educational opportunities but also fosters community spirit, encouraging collaboration and investment in the future of Boulder Valley’s youth. The impact of these grants will resonate throughout the school district, providing vital resources that empower educators and inspire students.
Stay tuned for more updates as applications open for the next grant cycle, and witness how these funds will transform the educational experience for BVSD students.
