UPDATE: Travel chaos continues across the United States as over 2,200 flights were canceled and more than 7,500 delayed today, marking the third consecutive day of disruption. This surge in cancellations is creating significant anxiety for travelers, just as millions prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

At Fresno Yosemite Airport, travelers reported no cancellations or delays, but local travel agents are closely monitoring the situation. Cathyrn Doty of Not Your Evil Stepmother’s Vacation Planner stated, “That is one of the first things that I do every morning is monitor the cancellations. I have clients traveling, and I want to ensure I’m prepared to make necessary changes.”

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, travel experts warn of peak travel days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and the Sunday following Thanksgiving. AAA spokesman Doug Johnson emphasized, “We’re predicting these will be the most congested travel days, so flexibility is key.”

The ongoing government shutdown adds to the uncertainty, making it crucial for travelers to remain adaptable in the face of sudden changes. With millions expected to take to the skies, the impact of these disruptions is felt nationwide, affecting both leisure and business travel.

Experts recommend that travelers check their flight status frequently and consider alternative plans. If you’re planning to fly in the coming days, stay informed and prepare for possible delays.
