Domestic Violence Suspect in Custody After Long Beach Standoff
UPDATE: A domestic violence suspect is now in custody following a dramatic standoff in Long Beach, California, that unfolded around 1 a.m. today. The tense situation erupted at an apartment complex located near Sixth Street and Daisy Avenue, prompting an urgent response from the Long Beach Police Department’s SWAT team.
Authorities confirmed that initial reports indicated an armed man had barricaded himself inside the complex, leading to the swift evacuation of nearby residents. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with one local, Monsor Middleton, recalling, “I heard a flash bang, it sounded like a bomb went off.” He added, “They really just caught me off guard; they breached this building that was across the street. It was very tense.”
After several hours, the standoff concluded safely, with the suspect taken into custody without further incident. The domestic violence victim received treatment at the scene; however, their current condition remains unclear.
