The Anaheim Ducks triumphed over the Winnipeg Jets with a decisive 4-1 victory on March 24, 2024, marking their seventh consecutive win. Leo Carlsson and rookie Beckett Sennecke each scored two goals, contributing to the Ducks’ strong performance at home, where they now hold a record of 5-1-0 this season.

Carlsson’s impressive scoring streak continued as he extended his points streak to ten games. He is currently tied for second in the NHL with 25 points (comprising ten goals and 15 assists), trailing only Nathan MacKinnon, who has 29 points. In contrast, the Jets have struggled, losing their third consecutive match as they embark on a six-game road trip.

The game began with an early advantage for the Ducks. Sennecke opened the scoring at 7:18 of the first period, firing a shot from the slot after receiving a pass from Cutter Gauthier. The Ducks doubled their lead just before the end of the period, with Carlsson scoring on the power play from a pass by Troy Terry, bringing the score to 2-0.

The Jets responded in the second period as Kyle Connor netted his ninth goal of the season at 4:22, cutting the Ducks’ lead in half. Connor’s goal was notable as it marked his 600th career point. However, momentum quickly shifted back to Anaheim when Sennecke scored his second goal of the night at 11:48, showcasing his skill by reaching around Jets defenseman Dylan DeMelo to secure a loose puck.

As the game progressed into the third period, Carlsson struck again at 2:47, scoring his tenth goal of the season from the left circle, assisted by Chris Kreider. This goal solidified the Ducks’ lead at 4-1, and they maintained this advantage until the end of the game.

In goal for the Ducks, Lukas Dostal made 23 saves, ensuring that the Jets could not capitalize on their scoring opportunities. On the other side, Jets goaltender Eric Comrie recorded 17 saves in a challenging outing.

This victory reflects the Ducks’ strong start to the season and highlights their offensive capabilities, particularly with Carlsson and Sennecke leading the charge. Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets will look to regroup as they continue their road trip, having been outscored 9-2 so far.
