Blockchain for Good Alliance Showcases Impactful Projects in 2025 Forum
The Blockchain for Good Alliance (BGA) recently highlighted transformative blockchain initiatives aimed at advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the Blockchain Impact Forum 2025 held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event, which took place on November 4-5, 2025, attracted over 300 policymakers, technologists, and leaders from more than 30 countries, all dedicated to exploring the potential of blockchain technology for social good.
Promoting Collaboration and Innovation
The Forum commenced with an exclusive leadership day titled “Chains of Change,” focusing on governance, digital public infrastructure, and cross-sector partnerships. This foundational day set the stage for a deeper examination of how blockchain can address pressing global challenges. The second day featured the inaugural BGAwards, which included the SDG Blockchain Accelerator Showcase organized by the United Nations Development Programme’s Alternative Finance Lab (AltFinLab). This showcase spotlighted projects that tackle critical issues such as financial inclusion, sustainability, and digital trust.
The Forum’s agenda was structured around three key themes: Blockchain for Digital Public Goods, Finance for Inclusion and Impact, and Sustainability and Climate Accountability. These themes facilitated discussions on governance, digital identity, transparency in data systems, and the role of blockchain in democratizing access to capital.
Notable speakers at the event included Helen Liu, Co-CEO of Bybit and Founder of the Blockchain for Good Alliance; Robert Pasicko, Team Leader at UNDP AltFinLab; and Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation. Their talks underscored the evolving role of blockchain in fostering trust-based systems and enhancing transparency across sectors.
Recognizing Excellence with the BGAwards
The culmination of the Forum was marked by the BGAwards 2025, which celebrated blockchain projects that have made significant contributions to the SDGs. Each winner received recognition and financial support for their innovative solutions. Among the winners of the SDG Blockchain Accelerator were Genius Tags, Plastiks, and ZenGate, each receiving USD 2,000.
In the BGA Incubation 2025 competition, the top projects were awarded significant funding, with Kelox taking first place in the Ideation Stage and receiving USD 10,000. Other notable winners included Give Hope, Nuva, and Social Activation, each awarded USD 3,000.
In the Growth Stage, Token Tails emerged as the first-place winner, receiving USD 30,000, while Rumsan and EsusFarm secured second and third places, respectively. Special recognition was also given to individuals such as Adam Flinter and Mickey Amami, along with a commendation award for Dr. Lisa Cameron.
The BGAwards highlighted the Alliance’s commitment to advancing blockchain solutions that drive measurable progress in sustainability, inclusion, and digital trust, demonstrating how innovation can translate into real-world impact.
Throughout the two-day event, participants emphasized the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors to align blockchain innovation with human development goals. The Forum served as a platform for showcasing how blockchain can strengthen institutional trust, unlock new financing avenues, and build transparent systems that foster social and environmental progress.
Helen Liu expressed her enthusiasm for the outcomes of the Forum, stating, “What we witnessed in Copenhagen is a movement taking shape — where blockchain offers a shared infrastructure for trust and accountability. Our mission at BGA is to turn innovation into impact, ensuring that every block built contributes to a fairer, more sustainable future.”
The Blockchain for Good Alliance continues to expand its ecosystem, driving responsible blockchain initiatives that fulfill the promise of technology in creating a more inclusive and sustainable world.
