Tom Sandoval recently shared insights about his long-time friend Tom Schwartz, asserting that Schwartz “wears the pants” when the cameras are off. During an exclusive interview at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas on November 14, Sandoval explained that while Schwartz may appear less outspoken publicly, he possesses a strong personality behind closed doors.

“Schwartz has always had his own identity. It’s really funny that he says that because, you know, behind closed doors, Schwartz definitely wears the pants in a lot of ways,” Sandoval, 43, revealed. He emphasized that although he often takes the lead in conversations, Schwartz holds firm opinions and decisions when it matters most.

The friendship between Sandoval and Schwartz dates back to their early days at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR restaurant, where they first gained fame as stars of the reality show Vanderpump Rules. Together, they have opened two restaurants, TomTom and Schwartz & Sandy’s. Schwartz’s recent participation in The Valley, a spinoff of Vanderpump Rules, marks a significant step for him in establishing his individuality away from Sandoval’s shadow.

In discussing the challenges faced by their restaurant, Sandoval noted the pressures that can strain friendships. “I mean, like with the restaurant and dealing with something that’s not doing well, failing constant pressure and negativity,” he explained. “It sucks, and it definitely wears on your friendship, but overall, since we’ve moved past that, it’s definitely been better.”

Sandoval expressed enthusiasm for Schwartz’s new role in the spinoff, stating, “I’m glad that he’s on there and doing his own thing and being himself. He’s got his podcast, he’s got his own voice. It’s great. I love it.” This reflects a supportive dynamic between the two friends, even as they navigate their professional lives.

When asked about his own potential involvement in The Valley, Sandoval admitted he had been hesitant about joining due to uncertainty about the show’s direction. He stated, “Not currently for this season, I’ve been on the fence about whether I wanted to be on The Valley. With that, I don’t think they want somebody on their show that’s going to be apprehensive about whether they want to be involved.” However, he expressed a newfound willingness to participate, especially alongside Schwartz and Lala Kent, as it would feel more authentic.

Reflecting on life after Vanderpump Rules, Sandoval remarked, “I think being away from Vanderpump Rules, it’s nice to have a little distance and have a little privacy.” He has been enjoying time with his partner, Victoria, 33, who has been supportive of his journey. The couple has been together since 2024, and Sandoval hinted at the possibility of marriage, joking, “Who knows?”

This year marked Victoria’s first attendance at BravoCon, where Sandoval noted the “great energy” and the opportunity to connect with fans. He shared that they have met up with fellow reality stars including Schwartz, Teddi Mellencamp, Tamra Judge, and Brittany Cartwright during the event.

As the two continue to navigate their careers and personal lives, their bond remains strong, illustrating the complexities of friendship in the public eye. With Schwartz stepping into his own spotlight and Sandoval exploring new avenues, both seem poised for exciting chapters ahead.
