Rev. Bry Shields to Retire as McGill-Toolen President in 2026
The Rev. Bry Shields, a pivotal figure in the leadership of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, has announced his retirement effective June 30, 2026. His tenure as president of the school began in 1989, making him a longstanding presence in the educational community of Mobile, Alabama.
In a statement released by the Archdiocese of Mobile and St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where he also serves as pastor, Rev. Shields emphasized the need to focus more on his parish responsibilities. He expressed gratitude for his time at McGill-Toolen, noting the school’s significant impact on the community and his personal journey within it.
During his presidency, Rev. Shields has overseen numerous developments at McGill-Toolen, enhancing its reputation as a leading educational institution.
