Hamilton High School Celebrates November’s Positive Office Referrals
Hamilton High School (HHS) has recognized its Positive Office Referral recipients for November 2023. This initiative celebrates students who demonstrate positive behavior, as noted by teachers and staff. Each student who receives a referral is rewarded with a soda, Gatorade, or a snack, according to HHS Principal Brad Gooding.
The Positive Office Referral program aims to promote a positive school culture. When a student earns their first referral, they receive a special “Takin’ Care of Business” (TCB) T-shirt. This initiative not only rewards individual achievements but also fosters a sense of community within the school.
In line with this year’s theme, “Like a Rock,” students are pictured holding a copy of the Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band album. Principal Gooding explained that to further celebrate this theme, students receive a congratulatory sticker on their name tags, which are placed on their lockers. Additionally, when students receive a Positive Office Referral, they sign the 1986 album, creating a memorable keepsake.
The initiative highlights the importance of recognizing and encouraging positive behavior among students. Such programs can significantly impact student morale and engagement, creating a positive environment conducive to learning.
As part of the celebration for Week 15, not all recipients were pictured. Notably, students Sylas Ferrell and Ashton White were recognized but not included in the photographs. This highlights the growing number of students being acknowledged for their positive contributions at HHS.
Overall, Hamilton High School’s Positive Office Referral program serves as an effective model for encouraging positive behavior and enhancing the school community. By celebrating students in creative ways, the school fosters a supportive atmosphere where achievements are recognized and valued.
