Timothy Andrew McGowan, a respected research analyst and theatre enthusiast, passed away in late 2025 following a courageous struggle with leukemia. He was 68 years old. Born in 1957 in Brooklyn, NY, Tim was the third of six children in a family of Irish immigrants. His early years in New Jersey and California shaped his character and interests, leading him to a successful career in entertainment.

Early Life and Education

In 1966, Tim’s family relocated to Maywood, NJ, where he attended Our Lady Queen of Peace. Five years later, the McGowans moved again, this time to the San Fernando Valley in California. Tim graduated from Chaminade High School in 1975, where he remained connected to the community long after his graduation.

Career Achievements

Tim began his professional journey in the entertainment industry in 1985 when he joined Columbia Pictures as a research analyst. His career progressed over the years, culminating in his role as Vice President of Research at CBS/KCAL-9. His insights and expertise contributed significantly to the success of numerous projects within the company.

In addition to his corporate accomplishments, Tim had a strong passion for theatre. After a 25-year hiatus, he returned to acting in 2010, participating in various productions in the Santa Clarita area. His love for performance and the arts remained a central part of his life.

Personal Life and Legacy

Tim married Susan McDermott in 1987, with whom he had two sons, Matthew (born in 1989) and Morgan (born in 1992). After their separation, he reconnected with Pamela Meyer, a former classmate from Chaminade, and they formed a devoted partnership that lasted over 15 years. Together, they traveled extensively.

Despite facing health challenges, including a battle with duodenal cancer in 2022, Tim’s spirit remained resilient. He was diagnosed with leukemia in late 2024, which ultimately led to his passing.

Tim McGowan is survived by his life partner, Pamela; his sons, Matthew and Morgan; and his siblings, Terry, Jim, Colleen, and Cathy. His contributions to both the entertainment industry and the lives of those who knew him will be fondly remembered.

Tim will be deeply missed by family, friends, and colleagues who cherished his warmth, humor, and passion for life.
