With over two decades of experience in competition economics, Dr. Wainscoat specializes in a range of areas including merger clearance processes, cartel investigations, and the analysis of anticompetitive agreements. He has been recognized by Lexology Index as one of Australia’s leading competition economists. His extensive background includes serving as an economic expert in high-stakes cases in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Dr. Wainscoat’s expertise is not limited to legal matters; he has worked across various sectors including digital platforms, online marketplaces, banking, and pharmaceuticals. Prior to joining The Brattle Group, Dr. Wainscoat spent 14 years as an economist in consulting firms in Sydney. He also gained invaluable experience working at the United Kingdom’s Office of Fair Trading early in his career.
