**Austin Launches Free Spay/Neuter Clinic for Pets, Nov 13-17**
URGENT UPDATE: Austin Animal Services, in partnership with Greater Good Charities, has just announced a free spay/neuter clinic for pets in Austin and Travis County from November 13 through November 17, 2025. This initiative is critical for pet owners facing the burden of costly vet bills, offering not only spay and neuter surgeries but also free vaccinations, microchips, and flea/tick prevention treatments.
The clinic opens its doors daily at 6:00 am at 11580 Stonehollow Dr., Suite 160, Austin, TX 78758. Services are available on a first-come, first-served basis until 10:00 am or until capacity is reached. With an anticipated 1,200 animals set to benefit, this clinic is a vital response to the ongoing crisis of animal overpopulation, which leads to increased stray and homeless pets in the community.
“As Austin’s municipal shelter, we’re committed to ensuring every pet owner—regardless of income or neighborhood—has access to the services that keep pets healthy and communities safe,” stated Rolando Fernandez, Interim Director of Animal Services. This effort marks the sixth clinic of its kind in the past year, which has successfully provided surgeries for over 5,000 pets to date.
The significance of this clinic extends beyond individual pet care; it aims to promote responsible pet ownership and enhance community safety. The clinic addresses a pressing issue—unintended litters and roaming animals can create challenges for neighborhoods. By providing these essential services for free, the initiative seeks to uplift the lives of pets and their owners alike.
Pet owners are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot. Given the popularity of these events, logistical considerations are important, but the overarching goal remains clear: enhancing the welfare of pets in Austin. The community-focused approach reinforces a collective commitment to quality care for every creature, ensuring responsible pet ownership is attainable for all.
This urgent initiative underscores Austin’s progressive stance on pet welfare, affirming that every pet deserves a chance at a healthy, happy life. As the city gears up for another event planned for early 2026, the impact of this clinic is expected to resonate far beyond these five days.
Stay tuned for more developments as Austin Animal Services continues to lead the way in promoting accessible health care for pets, shaping a brighter future for both animals and owners in the community.
