UPDATE: A stolen van is currently being pursued by authorities through four Southern California counties as of November 10, 2025. The chase began around 10:30 a.m. when the vehicle, reported stolen from the Thousand Oaks area, was spotted in Moorpark, prompting a police pursuit.

The Moorpark Police Department initiated the chase on the 118 Freeway shortly after the vehicle was seen failing to yield. As the pursuit escalated, it transitioned onto the 405 Freeway, with units from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) joining at the Sepulveda Pass.

By 11:45 a.m., authorities confirmed the chase reached the interchange of the 405 and 710 Freeways near Long Beach Airport. The driver, identified as a female, has been maintaining a steady pace, primarily sticking to the fast lane without driving aggressively.

As the clock approached noon, the pursuit continued south toward Orange County, entering Irvine by 12:10 p.m.. By 12:30 p.m., the chase had moved into the San Clemente area, with police still in close pursuit.

Officials reported that authorities were in contact with one of the driver’s family members as the chase reached San Diego County. A spike strip was deployed north of Camp Pendleton, resulting in some rear damage to the van, though it did not appear to have an immediate impact on the vehicle’s tires.

Around 1:15 p.m., traffic intensified in Oceanside, allowing officers to attempt another spike strip deployment, which was unsuccessful. The driver continued heading south toward the San Diego area.

This is an ongoing situation with significant public interest, as the chase unfolds in real-time. Authorities are advising the public to stay clear of the affected freeways as the pursuit progresses.
