West Ranch High School Stages Modern Take on ‘Romeo and Juliet’
West Ranch High School Theatre is set to present a fresh interpretation of William Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy, “Romeo and Juliet.” The performances will take place on November 6, 7, and 8, 2023, at 19:00 in the West Ranch High School Auditorium, located at 26255 Valencia Blvd, Stevenson Ranch, California.
This production retains the original Shakespearean dialogue while reimagining the iconic feud between the Capulet and Montague families in a vibrant 1980s American context. This creative twist aims to resonate with audiences, providing a unique backdrop for the classic tale of young love and conflict.
Tickets for the performances are available at the door, priced at $12 for general admission and $10 for seniors and veterans. For those interested in purchasing tickets online, a small discount is offered through the official website, www.westranchtheatre.com.
In addition to the evening shows, there will be an understudy performance on November 8 at 14:00, offering an opportunity for a different cast to showcase their talents. This initiative not only highlights the theatre department’s commitment to inclusivity but also provides additional performance experience for aspiring actors.
As the West Ranch High School Theatre prepares for these upcoming shows, the anticipation builds within the community. This production of “Romeo and Juliet” promises to deliver a captivating experience that blends classic literature with modern themes, making it accessible and engaging for a diverse audience.
