New London Man Convicted of Armed Carjacking; Sentencing Set
BREAKING: A New London man has been found guilty of multiple robbery and firearm charges linked to a dramatic carjacking incident in 2023. Victor Hall, aged 32, was convicted on October 20, 2023, by a jury in the New London Superior Court for first-degree robbery, third-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, and criminal possession of a firearm.
The case stems from a harrowing carjacking reported on March 10, 2023, when officers from the New London Police Department were alerted to a stolen vehicle. Within moments of the report, officers from the Waterford Police Department spotted a car matching the description of the stolen vehicle. Hall, identified as the driver, led police on a dangerous chase that ended when he crashed the car. After the crash, he attempted to escape on foot but was swiftly apprehended by police.
Authorities recovered a firearm near the scene, linking Hall to the serious charges. Paul J. Narducci, State’s Attorney for the New London Judicial District, expressed gratitude for the collaboration among law enforcement agencies involved in the case, stating, “We appreciate the dedicated efforts of the New London and Waterford Police Departments, as well as the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection’s Division of Scientific Services.”
Judge Elizabeth C. Leaming, who oversaw the trial, has scheduled Hall’s sentencing for January 28, 2026. This conviction raises concerns about public safety and the prevalence of violent crime in the region.
Residents of New London are urged to stay vigilant as law enforcement continues to crack down on crime. This verdict serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by communities in combatting carjacking and violent crime.
Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story, as the implications of Hall’s conviction reverberate across the region.
