Ragon Institute Seeks Computational Immunologist for Tenure-Track Role

The Ragon Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Harvard University is actively seeking a computational immunologist for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. This pivotal role is set in the heart of Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is aimed at individuals with significant expertise in computational immunology, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

This search is ongoing, and the successful candidate will be fully employed by the Ragon Institute, with a primary appointment within the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School (HMS). The Ragon Institute, established in February 2009, has a mission to harness the immune system to combat human diseases, particularly focusing on infectious diseases, autoimmunity, and cancer immunology.

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. or equivalent degree in Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, and must demonstrate a proven track record in basic or translational research. This position requires the potential to develop an independent research program that aligns with the Institute’s objectives of advancing immunological science for disease prevention and treatment.

HMS faculty duties encompass teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, engaging in research, and supervising student research initiatives. The successful applicant will receive a generous start-up package from the Ragon Institute, along with access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, including advanced flow cytometry, microscopy, and BSL-3 facilities.

Candidates for this role are expected to establish an internationally recognized research program that is externally funded, supported by substantial Institute resources. Collaboration with other scientists is crucial, as is the ability to mentor doctoral students from HMS graduate programs.
