Authorities from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that emergency responders arrived within minutes, but tragically, two people inside the home were pronounced dead. The identities of the victims have yet to be released as investigations continue.
Witnesses describe the scene as chaotic, with flames quickly consuming the structure. Local resident Claire Stevens expressed deep concern for a family member of one of the victims who is currently out of the country. “My grandson was good friends with one of the young people that lived there.
