San Jose Earthquakes Reveal 2026 Schedule with Key Matchups
UPDATE: The San Jose Earthquakes just announced their highly anticipated 2026 Major League Soccer schedule, bringing exciting matchups and new rivalries to PayPal Park. Fans will be eager to mark their calendars as they prepare for an action-packed season that kicks off on February 21, 2026, against Sporting Kansas City at 7:30 p.m.
The Earthquakes narrowly missed the playoffs in 2025, finishing their season with a disappointing record after a promising start under manager Bruce Arena, who holds the league’s all-time wins record. As they gear up for the new season, the team aims to build on last year’s performance, with a strong home opener setting the tone.
This season will feature a significant highlight: German soccer star Thomas Müller is set to make his Bay Area debut on May 9 as a member of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC, following his transfer from Bayern Munich. Müller, a former World Cup Golden Boot winner, adds star power to an already thrilling matchup that fans won’t want to miss.
The 2026 season will also be impacted by the upcoming World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 18. The Earthquakes will pause their season after a match on May 23 against Portland, resuming play on July 22 with a home game against Orlando. While the Quakes take a break, fans can still enjoy World Cup action at Levi’s Stadium, which will host six matches, including a Round of 32 game on July 1.
Furthermore, the 2026 schedule includes intense rivalry games, with the Earthquakes set to face the LA Galaxy at Stanford Stadium for the California Clásico on July 25. This match is expected to draw significant crowds, especially after last year’s thrilling encounters. The Quakes will also take on in-state rivals LAFC at Levi’s Stadium on September 19, a match that coincides with Mexican Heritage Night, promising a vibrant atmosphere similar to last year’s high-attendance showdown.
Fans eager to secure their seats can begin purchasing single-game tickets, which go on sale Tuesday for all matches except the LAFC game. Additional details and the complete schedule can be found on the official Earthquakes website.
As the Earthquakes prepare for a transformative season, the excitement is palpable. Don’t miss out on any of the action as the team looks to reclaim its spot among the league’s elite. Be sure to follow the latest updates on the Earthquakes’ journey through the 2026 season.
