Iconic Jacksonville Leader Bruce J. Stark Passes Away at 80

BREAKING: Bruce J. Stark, a beloved Jacksonville community leader, has passed away at the age of 80. Stark died on October 13, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, leaving behind a rich legacy of service to his family and community.

Stark, born on May 15, 1945, in Schenectady, New York, was an influential figure known for his dedication to both his family and various charitable organizations. He graduated from Linton High School in 1963 before earning a degree in computer science and mathematics from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York.

His service to the nation included a stint in the U.S. Naval Reserve, where he was active in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. Stark was not just a veteran; he was a dedicated member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center, where he served as a minyan captain. His involvement extended to organizations like Magen David Adom and the Jacksonville Humane Society, showcasing his commitment to humanitarian efforts.

Alongside his wife, Katherine Senrick Stark, Bruce dedicated many years to fostering and adopting dogs through the Golden Receiver Rescue Society, reflecting his love for animals and the importance he placed on family.

Stark’s passion for life was evident in his hobbies, particularly his love for classic car shows and his willingness to help others in need. He is survived by his wife, two children, Aaron Stark and Rachel Stark Corum (Brady), and his cherished grandchildren, Elliot David Corum and Arya Corum. His sisters, Nancy Schoenburg (Stuart) of Boca Raton, FL, and Barbara Heisler (Michael) of Tucson, AZ, also mourn his passing.

The community is coming together to honor Bruce Stark’s life and the profound impact he had on so many. His passing leaves a significant void, and he will be greatly missed by family, friends, and the many lives he touched during his lifetime.
