UPDATE: A devastating house fire has left a beloved community figure in Bucks County, PA, facing unimaginable loss. Scott Diethorne, known locally as “Santa,” lost his home and nearly all of his possessions in the blaze that erupted on October 14, 2023, shortly before 10 p.m.

The tragedy struck while Diethorne was out celebrating his daughter’s birthday with family. He received the heart-wrenching news that flames engulfed his residence on the 700 block of Auburn Road. According to the Falls Township Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire originated in the attic and rapidly spread, leaving firefighters with little chance to save the structure.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, two dogs and a parrot perished in the fire. Diethorne expressed deep concern for his wife, who lost vital medication in the incident. The family also lost a truck, motorcycles, and all of Diethorne’s custom Santa gear, which casts a shadow over the upcoming Christmas season.

Despite the overwhelming loss, Diethorne remains resilient, stating, “I’m so grateful for the love and support from the community.” The Red Cross is providing assistance to the displaced family as they navigate this challenging time.
