Armed Suspect Attempts to Disarm Deputy at Saratoga Library
UPDATE: An urgent incident unfolded at the Saratoga Library on Saratoga Avenue as deputies responded to a disturbance involving a violent suspect. On November 19, the individual allegedly struck two library staff members before fleeing the scene on a bicycle. Shortly after, deputies located the suspect, who was committing a traffic violation, and made the stop.
During the investigation, deputies discovered that the suspect had an outstanding warrant. In a shocking turn of events, the suspect resisted arrest and attempted to disarm a deputy by reaching for their firearm. Law enforcement quickly subdued the individual, who has since been booked into the main jail.
This alarming event raises concerns about safety in public spaces and the aggressive actions some individuals may take against law enforcement.
Meanwhile, on November 21, deputies were dispatched to El Quito Park on Paseo Presada following reports of a suspicious person. The case is now being forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for further review.
In another development, on November 22, deputies responded to a call regarding a vehicle off the roadway at Congress Springs Road and Pierce Road. Their investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from San Jose.
