New Research Initiative to Explore the Magellanic Clouds
A new research initiative, spearheaded by the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP), aims to conduct a comprehensive five-year survey of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) and the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). The LMC, located approximately 163,000 light-years from Earth, and the SMC, at about 206,000 light-years, offer researchers a unique opportunity to study galaxy formation and evolution.
