The City of Batavia, New York, is set to enhance its law enforcement capabilities with the opening of a new police station located at 31 Bank Street. All police operations will officially transition to this facility on December 8, 2023. The new station aims to provide improved services and accessibility for residents.

The building’s lobby will welcome the public on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., allowing community members to engage directly with police services. In preparation for the move, Alva Place will be closed from Bank Street to the Batavia City Center parking lot until construction is fully completed. Residents are encouraged to utilize the parking lot at the Batavia City Center during this period.

Despite the relocation, the Batavia Police Department’s phone number will remain unchanged. Community members can continue to reach the non-emergency line at (585) 345-6350 for assistance.

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house are planned for the future, although specific dates have not yet been announced. This event will allow the public to explore the new facilities and meet local law enforcement personnel. The Batavia Police Department looks forward to serving the community from its new home, which is designed to foster better interactions between officers and residents.

As the new police station opens, it symbolizes a commitment to public safety and community engagement in Batavia.
