San Diego Experiences Warming Trend Before Windy Weekend
A warming and drying trend is set to envelop San Diego County on Thursday and Friday, with daytime temperatures expected to return to near-normal levels. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), high temperatures on Thursday will range from 67 to 72°F near the coast, 71 to 74°F inland, 71 to 76°F in the valleys, 67 to 74°F in the mountains, and 85 to 89°F in the deserts.
As the week progresses, temperatures are likely to fluctuate around the seasonal average. Weather patterns will mimic the gentle rise and fall of ocean swells, dipping slightly below average on Wednesday before climbing again on Friday. Following this peak, a brief cool-down is expected over the weekend.
Cooler Weather Approaches with Weekend System
A shift in weather patterns is anticipated this weekend as a new system arrives, bringing cooler and windier conditions. The NWS warns of gusty west winds on Sunday afternoon and evening, particularly impacting areas such as the mountains, deserts, and passes. Gusts could exceed 30 mph in these regions, prompting residents to prepare for potential disruptions.
Despite the windy conditions, the system moving in is expected to remain dry, with no rain or storms predicted for the immediate area. Meteorologists emphasize that the brunt of any precipitation will stay well to the north, meaning San Diego County will likely escape significant weather disturbances.
Gradual Warming Expected Next Week
Looking ahead to early next week, forecasts suggest a return to gradual warming alongside periods of weak offshore flow. This pattern may enhance the overall temperatures, providing a brief respite from the weekend’s cooler conditions. As residents anticipate the weather changes, they can expect a variety of temperatures throughout the county, underscoring San Diego’s diverse climate landscape.
In summary, while warmer days are ahead for San Diego County, residents should prepare for a windy weekend as a new weather system approaches. With temperatures fluctuating and winds increasing, staying informed will be key to navigating the changing conditions.
