HealthSpring Unveils Medicare Advantage Plans for Houston Seniors
HealthSpring has announced its Medicare Advantage plans for 2026, aiming to provide Houston seniors with comprehensive coverage options during the Medicare Annual Election Period. This initiative includes benefits such as a Part B premium giveback of up to $185 per month, making it an attractive choice for many retirees. Coverage under these plans is set to begin on January 1, 2026.
Key Features of HealthSpring’s Medicare Advantage Plans
During a recent discussion on Houston Life, Tiffany Frink, a representative for HealthSpring, elaborated on the new offerings, which are designed to assist seniors in managing their healthcare costs effectively. Many seniors currently pay $185 per month for their Part B premium. HealthSpring’s plans may provide a monthly reimbursement of this amount, totaling up to $2,220 annually, thereby enhancing financial flexibility for members.
In addition to the premium giveback, HealthSpring plans include several appealing features. These offerings often consist of a $0 monthly plan premium, $0 copays for primary care visits, and low copays for specialist consultations. Many prescription drugs may also come with $0 copays. Other benefits include over-the-counter allowances, fitness programs, dental, hearing, and vision services, transportation assistance, and rewards of up to $200 for engaging in healthy activities.
Addressing Common Misconceptions
Frink also clarified a frequent concern among veterans regarding Medicare Advantage plans. She emphasized that enrolling in a Medicare Advantage plan does not affect veterans’ eligibility for military benefits, such as VA coverage or TRICARE for Life. Instead, these plans can complement existing services, increasing access to additional healthcare providers and potentially leading to savings.
As the Annual Election Period approaches, seniors are encouraged to review their current plans and consider their options carefully. It is advisable to examine any Annual Notice of Change received from current carriers and to verify provider networks and drug formularies for the medications and doctors they rely on.
For those needing assistance in comparing plans, HealthSpring has licensed agents available to help navigate the various options. Seniors can reach out for support at 855-552-0666 or visit the HealthSpring website for more information.
As healthcare remains a significant investment for individuals, taking the time to explore these new options can lead to better coverage tailored to personal health needs.
