IVE’s Leeseo to Focus on Career, Skipping 2026 College Entrance Exams
Leeseo, a member of the popular girl group IVE, has confirmed she will not participate in the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT). After extensive discussions, she has chosen to focus on her current career activities instead of preparing for the exam. This decision aligns with similar choices made by fellow group members, including Jang Wonyoung and Liz, who have also opted out of the CSAT to continue pursuing their entertainment careers.
Starship Entertainment Supports Leeseo’s Decision
Starship Entertainment, IVE’s management company, stated that they fully support Leeseo’s decision. The agency emphasized that her focus on career activities is important at this stage in her life. They also mentioned that Leeseo will have the opportunity to consider higher education when she feels ready.
Responses from fans, known as K-Netizens, indicate a general consensus that Leeseo’s decision is wise. Many expressed understanding, suggesting that taking the exam later would allow her to avoid disrupting others who are preparing for it. Comments varied from concerns about the presence of fans and media at test sites to admiration for Leeseo’s maturity in prioritizing her career.
One fan remarked, “I’m not a senior, but I think she should take it later so as not to bother the students who are taking it.” Others noted their surprise at her age, with comments like “Leeseo will become an adult next year?” reflecting the group’s youthful image.
Leeseo’s Rise in the Entertainment Industry
Leeseo debuted with IVE in 2021 and has since gained significant recognition in the K-pop industry. Recently, the group completed the Seoul leg of their world tour, further solidifying their popularity. As IVE continues to make waves, the decision of its members to prioritize their careers over traditional educational paths highlights the changing dynamics in the industry.
As the conversation around education and career choices evolves, Leeseo’s choice illustrates a growing trend among young idols. Fans and industry observers will be watching closely to see how her career develops in the coming years.
