Halloween Night on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Features Dance Marathon
Halloween came alive in the ballroom during the latest episode of Dancing With the Stars, where the cast participated in a themed night filled with spooky performances. The event, known as the “Dance Monster-thon,” featured all remaining couples dancing simultaneously as judges eliminated pairs one by one, culminating in a single winning duo. This thrilling episode aired on October 31, 2023, as part of the show’s ongoing season 34.
As the competition narrows, only nine couples remain, including notable contestants such as Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, social media influencer Alix Earle, and actor Dylan Efron. Following the previous week’s elimination of Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold, the stakes are higher as the season approaches its finale.
Competition Intensifies with Halloween Theme
During Halloween Night, the couples showcased their creativity and skill through routines inspired by the holiday. The format of the dance marathon added an exciting twist, as each couple performed under the pressure of being eliminated based on judges’ scores and audience votes. The lowest-scoring couple faced the risk of going home at the end of the episode.
Returning to the judges’ panel was Cheryl Burke, a two-time mirrorball champion who expressed enthusiasm for her role. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter prior to the episode, Burke emphasized her desire to foster “authenticity and growth” among the contestants as a supportive judge. She joined regular judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli for the evening.
With four weeks left in the competition, the remaining theme nights promise to keep audiences engaged. Upcoming events include the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame theme, a celebration of the show’s 20th birthday, and a special Prince Night during the semi-finals. The season finale is set for November 25, 2023, where the 34th winning couple will be crowned.
Scores and Performances from Halloween Night
The live voting process allows fans to engage directly with the show as they support their favorite couples. Voting occurs during the East Coast airing of each episode, concluding shortly after the final performance. The scores from the Halloween Night episode will determine which couples advance in the competition.
As the excitement builds, viewers can expect to see lively performances and emotional moments as the season progresses. With every dance, the remaining contestants aim to impress the judges and captivate the audience, all while navigating the challenges of the competition.
Dancing With the Stars airs weekly on ABC and streams on Disney+, with new episodes available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
